What I saw was passion. Passion in something you believe in. Whilst I had seen it before in others, I never expected it in this form from her. I saw her eyes. I could see the layer in front of her eye, glossy. The skin around the eye reddening. A tear slowly fell down her cheek. She was sad. She was also happy, only because the tear was falling on my side of her face. She turned and told me not to tell the opposite side the reality of what I saw. Though I heard what she said, I thought I hadn’t. I asked again, confirming what I heard correctly was right. The words echoed through my head. This wasn’t partnership, this was a true friendship. A love between two people that would not push further. She was a real friend. I haven’t one like this.
I needed to tell her now.
